Sharing your story
As I’ve been preparing for the official launch of The Yogipreneur, I’ve been putting together my board of advisors – made up of some of my most inspirational and influential mentors. In the past week, I emailed out my business plan and other materials for feedback.
I have several mentors who are from the old school world of business. They don’t have fancy degrees. They grew their business by knocking on doors and asking for it. They would never think of mixing their personal life with their business life. So I started getting some questions about why I’m putting my photo on my website, sharing my personal insights and “facebook friending” my fans.
The way people do business is changing. I firmly believe that you would rather work with someone who you know, like and trust as opposed to someone you know nothing about. And in the transformative practice of yoga, sharing your story is a way to let people know that you are a real person who has done the work on the mat.
So I encourage you to share your story. Yoga is a process of transformation which continues our entire life. Your students want to know who you are! Once they trust you, amazing things will begin to happen and you will begin to see the transformation on and off the mat.
